Today in Gaming - 4/19/11: Portal DLC Backlash, PlayStation Home Overhaul

The response by some angry gamers to Portal 2's day one downloadable content struck me as pretty strange. Normally I'd understand the outrage over this sort of thing, but this is different than most scenarios. The content in question is completely optional and it's not as if it's real content (like levels) that some players will miss out on by not paying up -- it's simply customization options that make your co-op character look a bit funnier than the rest. If it had been something more substantial, sure, but under the circumstances I can't blast Valve, especially when it's offered so much free content for Team Fortress 2.
