Details and Video of Canceled Perfect Dark Sequel Surface

Perfect Dark Zero wasn't nearly as successful as the original N64 game, but that didn't stop Rare from working on a follow-up that has since been canceled.

Known as Perfect Dark Core, its development was headed by Chris Seavor and the team that developed Conker's Bad Fur Day. It was intended to be a more realistic game, with series protagonist Joanna Dark becoming a smoker and a flirt, according to various sources that have spoken with Unseen64. The idea was later changed so that players would assume the role of an unidentified male, rather than Joanna herself.

By late 2008, the game still hadn't been given the green light and had been changed drastically -- not only was it no longer called Perfect Dark Core, it wasn't even a Perfect Dark game. It remained an FPS but focused on combat with mechs (the video below shows the male protagonist using one) before being canceled.
