It's a brand new year, and in general you'd have to say the broad economy and stocks are enjoying fresh bullish sentiment as we slowly escape the clutches of the Great Recession. Housing, the black sheep of the economy that brought us into this mess in the first place, remains the biggest drag. As a general recovery raises all ships, housing will eventually settle back into an uptrend but as it stands now, there are several negatives dragging it down against the current.
