During a conference call on the company's earnings today, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot revealed that the next Assassin's Creed -- not referring to the 3DS game Lost Legacy -- would be out in calendar 2011. Nothing about the game itself was announced; instead, Ubisoft will be revealing the game at some point in May, ahead of this year's E3. Guillemot stated that it will be a retail title but wouldn't provide anymore detail. In addition to three handheld games, there have been three console entries since the franchise made its debut in 2007. The most recent, Brotherhood, was released this past November on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and will be coming to the PC next month.
Assassin's Creed is easily one of Ubisoft's most successful franchises, and another one is naturally in the works. The next game is coming sooner than some might think -- it will be out by the end of the year and is set to be revealed in May.
