Supremacy MMA Wants to Be More Like Street Fighter Than UFC Undisputed

The big dog in MMA videogames is the UFC Undisputed series; and while EA Sports MMA may be trying to butt heads with THQ's fighting franchise, Supremacy MMA is looking to carve out its own niche in the genre. Even though Supremacy isn't attached to an MMA license, publisher 505 Games doesn't see that as a hindrance; instead, the lack of a license gives developer Kung Fu Factory the freedom to explore the darker, more violent side of the sport.

That darker side in Supremacy means allowing moves and holds that would normally be excluded in other games due to an organization's own set of fighting rules. Supremacy's violent attacks include: headstomps, headbutts, kicking your opponent on the ground, soccer kicks, and elbow hits to the back of the head. This freedom to commit extremely violent acts is just one way the game plans to pave its own path.
